PERMANENT WAVING (Cold Waving)

I.  MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENTS: 

            -  Soap and water

            -  Record card

            -  Shampoo cape

            -  Towels

            -  Combs:  regular comb, tail comb

            -  Clamps

            -  Perm rods

            -  End paper

            -  Cotton band

            -  Water spray bottle

            -  Gloves

            -  Protective cream

            -  Cold wave solution (take on the counter)

            -  Cold wave neutralizer (take on the counter)

II.  PROCEDURE: 

01.    Wash hands

02.    Set up table

03.    Drape patron:  double drape

04.    Examine hair and scalp

05.    Wet hair, blot dry

06.    Section hair:  9

07.    Wrapping hair (prevent fishhook), 6 rods

08.    Apply protective cream around hairline

09.    Apply cotton band

10.    Wear gloves

11.    Take product on the counter:

-  Cold wave solution

-  Cold wave neutralizer

12.    Apply cold wave solution

13.    Take cotton off

14.    Test curl

15.    Rinse rods, blot dry

16.    Replace cotton band

17.    Apply neutralizer

18.    Take cotton off

19.    Rinse again, blot

20.    Examiner check rods

21.    Undrape patron

22.    Fill record card

23.    Clean up

24.    Wash hands
